Waste-to-energy (WtE) is the process of creating energy in the form of electricity or heat from the incineration of waste source. WtE is a form of energy recovery. With the ever increasing global shortage of natural resources , the demand for renewable energy has also become one of the hottest issues that must be addressed. The HKBEE was founded in December 2011 by Dr Stephen SF Lee, Director, Waste-to-Energy, at LeeMak International Network Ltd as a platform to promote the development of the renewable energy industry and to create synergy among industry players of this important sector. All members of the LeeMak Team are represented on the Executive Committee of HKBEE.
